George Mason's new Life Sciences and Engineering Building opened in March 2025. The facility supports the university's growing need for classrooms, support spaces, and highly specialized instructional labs designed for rigorous hands-on learning.

Encompassing 132,000 square feet of space, the building is designed to promote collaboration and engagement among students and faculty. The ground-level engineering labs and student design competition bays open directly onto the campus’ exterior pathways, allowing visibility into the work happening inside.

With university classrooms and more than 30 different laboratory spaces for teaching, design, and fabrication, the building offers state-of-the-art facilities for hands-on training in disciplines including athletic training and kinesiology, microbiology, chemistry, engineering, forensic science, robotics and autonomous vehicles, and more.

The building fosters interdisciplinary connections and promotes collaboration and engagement among students and faculty across many academic units, including the College of Education and Human Development, College of Engineering and Computing and the College of Science.
