STUDY ROOMS
Reserve a study room to complete group assignments, take a virtual class, study with friends, hold student organization leadership meetings, and more!

Reservations

- Study rooms may only be reserved by George Mason University students, faculty, or staff. A valid Mason NetID is required to reserve a study room.
- Study rooms may be reserved once a day up to four hours per day.
- Study rooms may be reserved up to 14 days in advance.
- Individuals may have up to three active reservations within a 14-day period.
- Each room is equipped with a whiteboard and a television for screen share. HDMI cords are not provided. Select rooms have streaming capabilities.
Intended Use and Safety
- Occupants must follow the University’s policies for personal conduct as outlined in the current University Catalog.
- Furniture may not be moved into or out of study rooms.
- Study rooms may not be used for events.
- Smoking, cooking, partying, painting, loud music, club meetings, and/or any other activities disruptive to others are strictly prohibited.
- Noise levels from any conversations and/or equipment must remain low to avoid disturbing others.
- Occupants are strictly prohibited from using any equipment that may pose as a safety hazard (i.e. extended electrical cords, cables, cooking appliances, etc.).
- Occupants are strictly prohibited from performing medical, health, and salon activities that include but are not limited to the collection of bodily fluids, injections, grooming, body modifications, and similar experiences.

Personal Property

- The University and the SciTech Campus Executive Office are not responsible for unattended, lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
- Unattended items left in study rooms will be removed by SciTech Campus Executive Office staff and taken to the Lost and Found, Colgan Hall Room 217.
- High value items (e.g., wallets or jewelry) may be turned over to University Police. Contact them at 703-993-8370 for retrieval.
Privacy
- Study room privacy is not guaranteed.
- Staff reserve the right to enter any study room at any time without prior permission of the occupants.
- Any obstruction of windows is prohibited.
- Occupants may not post signs inside or outside the rooms (i.e. ‘Occupied’, ‘Do Not Disturb’, ‘Keep Out’, etc.).
Terms and Conditions
The SciTech Campus Executive Office is committed to enhancing academic and co-curricular experiences by providing spaces that foster student success.
Failure to comply with Mason SciTech Study Room Guidelines may result in being asked by staff to leave the room and/or LSEB, and blocked access to LibCal. Disputes regarding room use and occupancy or refusal to follow staff directives regarding these policies may be referred to Student Conduct or George Mason University Police.
